To modernize the brand, I retained the recognizable hanger symbol and refined it into a clean, continuous form. Directional arrows were integrated to reinforce the concept of circular fashion and the exchange at the core of the brand. Paired with bold, streamlined typography, the updated identity feels confident, contemporary, and built for digital scalability.
For over two decades, Plato’s Closet has been a go-to destination for teens and young adults looking to buy and sell gently used fashion. The brand carved out a space in resale culture long before sustainability became mainstream. As trends evolved and digital resale platforms gained popularity, the secondhand market shifted from “budget-friendly” to “fashion-forward.” The challenge was to create a modern, simplified logo that communicates the cycle of resale while maintaining brand recognition.

I began by exploring a wide range of concepts, experimenting with different symbols, typographic treatments, and visual metaphors related to resale and fashion. Testing multiple directions allowed me to evaluate clarity, memorability, and relevance before selecting the strongest concept. The chosen direction was then refined digitally and developed into the final identity system.

This concept combines the hanger with directional arrows to represent the cycle of buying and selling. It maintains brand recognition while introducing a clearer visual connection to resale.

Inspired by Plato’s Greek roots, this concept uses a structured geometric symbol to create a timeless and balanced identity. It references the history behind the name through a more classical visual approach.

This concept forms a circular symbol using clothing silhouettes to represent reuse and secondhand fashion. By reimagining the recycling symbol with apparel, it directly connects to the idea of sustainable style.
